To help you, please complete the financial aid form and specify the required amount. Just so you know, Ashenso does not grant merit-based scholarships for students. Currently, all scholarships are need-based, ensuring that an Ashenso education is affordable to all who qualify
The students we educate come from various backgrounds, with different perspectives and lessons to share. That is why, together with generous partners, we have committed to providing scholarships to admitted students who need such assistance, ensuring that an Ashenso education is affordable to all who qualify. Ashenso operates two kinds of scholarship: Asantewaa Scholarship Scheme (ASS) and Oppong-Agyare Scholarship Scheme (OSS).
The selection process begins with students (parents) applying to one of the scholarship schemes: Asantewaa Scholarship Scheme (ASS) and Oppong-Agyare Scholarship Scheme (OSS). The process continues by determining whether a student qualifies for admission into the Ashenso program, based on each applicant’s overall profile. The initial selection process is need-blind.
Applicants who qualify to enter Ashenso and have applied for scholarships are then evaluated based on their financial need. At this stage, the Scholarship Committee, consisting of the entire admissions team and the board, conducts a thorough assessment of all applicant information gathered. If the information provided is unclear, students or their parents may be asked additional questions about their financial needs during the admissions interview.
Based on the established financial need, applicants are categorized into one of four groups: Extreme Need, High Need, Medium Need, or Low Need. For each aid category, there is a specific amount of funding that Ashenso can allocate or a designated amount of scholarships assigned. Students (or parents) in each category are then ranked according to the strength of their admissions application; funding is awarded to students based on this ranking until the allocated funds for the admissions period are depleted
The ASS scholarship provides a full scholarship where the student (or parent) receives complete assistance. ASS assist students who cannot afford to pay the full tuition for part or the entire duration of their schooling program. It covers tuition, meals, learning materials, and any other necessities required for the student to complete their program
The OSS scholarship covers a part of the tuition fees or the entire cost of studying for a term or an academic year. Some categories of the scholarship cover not only the partial tuition, but also partially cover meals on campus, learning materials, and support for some basic items. The OSS is a partial scholarship dedicated to supporting parents for a short period and intermittently. Applicants awarded scholarships will be informed of the conditions of their scholarship in their admissions package.
You can apply to Ashenso using the online application portal for either of our two programs. Complete your application in the portal as follows:
• The admissions committee reviews all submitted applications and invites shortlisted candidates for an interview. A final decision is made on the strength of the application information provided and a personal interview. • Financial aid awards will be given based on the evidence provided and the availability of funds. • You will be notified when a decision has been made.
The decision to offer admission is made independently of scholarship decisions, and students may sometimes be informed of their admission status but may not qualify for scholarship support. However, please note that both admission and scholarship awards are highly competitive. Additionally, applicants are encouraged to apply honestly to the Ashenso scholarship program. Applicants found to have provided false information during the application process may be automatically disqualified from applying to Ashenso; if admitted, an admission offer may still be revoked.
